Fostering Kindness

We are proud to partner with Little Angels
Service Dogs as a volunteer foster.

Fostering Kindness, Love, and Hope

Our passion for helping others goes far beyond our learning center. Mary-Go-Round has entered a partnership as a Volunteer Foster for a Nonprofit Organization that trains Service Dogs. Little Angels Service Dogs in Bartlett NH trains Service Dogs for Autism, Medical Alert, Phycological Issues, Hearing, and PSTD. All Foster dogs are healthy, temperament tested puppies or adult dogs. Mary-Go-Round has the unique opportunity to socialize these dogs with children and a school setting at the same time.

Mary-Go-Round believes that children can be of value to the Community. Our Students learn the value of accepting other’s differences, to recognize individual challenges, and above all to help others. This partnership gives our students a genuine, hands-on opportunity to be making a difference.

Our current Foster Dog in Training visits Mary-Go-Round for parts of the day, or sometimes the entire day depending on the needs of the training. The dog will be working on basic training such as sit, stay, and come, as well as more advanced tasks like Medical Alert, Item Retrieval, and Emotional Comfort. We use this experience to help children understand the importance of caring for others.

We often find that our four-legged visitors become excellent companions for our children as well. Our foster dogs comfort children when they are upset, teach them how to be gentle and caring and join in the fun during playtime. If you’ve got a pet at home, your child will learn to appreciate them and treat them with care and respect.

We are proud to work with Little Angels Service Dogs. They are accredited by Assistance Dogs International (A.D.I.) and uphold the highest of standards in training practices for assistance dogs. These high standards ensure a high level of service to the disabled, high quality of life for the dog and safety for those in the community who interact with the dog.
